Catherine Doherty
Life outsideCatherine has spent the last eight years learning to sail, and has reached a state of enlightened ignorance, where she is now more aware of the many things that she doesn't know, especially in areas such as sail tuning (making it go), navigation (not hitting the scenery), meteorology (deciding when not to go) and close-quarters boat handling (parking).
She is also an assistant scout leader with the 201st Islington Sea Scout troop who are based just behind the Arsenal Emirates stadium. They have a busy program of basic camping and scoutwork as well as the sea scout activities, so she spends most Bank Holiday weekends in a small damp tent somewhere in the British countryside.
